eXoMacBox is a native macOS application that lets you browse, organize, and launch games from retro gaming collections like eXoDOS, eXoScummVM, eXoDREAMM, and more. It's a frontend/launcher that works with your own game collections.

No. eXoMacBox is a game library manager and launcher only. You must provide your own legally obtained game collections. The app helps you organize and play them.

Depending on your collection, you may need:

DOS games: DOSBox Staging (brew install dosbox-staging)
ScummVM games: ScummVM (brew install scummvm)
Windows 3.x/9x: DOSBox-X (download from dosbox-x.com)
LucasArts games: DREAMM (download from aarongiles.com/dreamm)
Console ROMs: RetroArch (brew install --cask retroarch)

1. Launch eXoMacBox
2. Go to Settings (gear icon or Cmd + ,)
3. Click "Select Collection Folder"
4. Choose the root folder of your eXoDOS or other collection
5. The app will scan and load your games automatically

ScreenScraper is an online database of game metadata and artwork. If you have a free ScreenScraper.fr account, you can enter your credentials in Settings to download box art, screenshots, and game information for your collection.

Make sure the required emulator is installed. The app will show a warning banner if an emulator is missing. Most emulators can be installed via Homebrew. Check the emulator paths in Settings if you have a custom installation location.
